Listening comprehension at B2: authentic recordings
The compréhension orale at B2 throws radio debates, expert interviews and documentaries at you. The topics are genuinely complex: economics, politics, science, culture. You need to follow each speaker's position, track the main arguments, and pick up on the finer shades of the discourse — tone, hesitation, implied disagreement.
Written production at B2: the argumentative essay
The production écrite at B2 asks for an argumentative text of at least 250 words, built from documents you're given. You have to structure your argument with a thesis, a counter-thesis and a synthesis, use advanced connectors, and show you can nuance and qualify your claims rather than state them flatly.
Advanced B2 grammar
B2 requires solid command of: the subjonctif présent and passé, la concordance des temps (sequence of tenses), the conditionnel passé and présent, le discours indirect (converting direct to reported speech), compound relative pronouns (auquel, duquel, lequel), and circumstantial clauses (cause, consequence, purpose, concession).
