Strategies to pass the DELF B2

  • In B2 listening comprehension, the first document is easier (global comprehension). The second is a longer debate or report: focus your listening on the thread of the argument.
  • In reading comprehension, questions about what the text implies are the hardest. Look for what the text suggests, not just what it states.
  • For the writing task, the four-paragraph structure (introduction + 2 arguments + conclusion with a proposal) never fails at 250 words.
  • In the speaking exam, the examiner may push back to see if you defend your position. Don't change your opinion under pressure: defend it with arguments.
  • Practise B2 listening comprehension with France 24, RFI, and France Culture podcasts. They're the closest match to the exam's audio format.
