Exam tips

  • Always follow the structure: greeting – body – sign-off. Skip the structure and you lose points.
  • Answer EXACTLY what the consigne asks: don't add irrelevant information.
  • Use the passé composé to narrate and the présent for current information.
  • Vary your phrasing: don't always say "c'est bien" — reach for synonyms like magnifique, super, formidable.
  • Count your words at the end: the minimum is sacred in this exam.
